Order of Importance in a Country and In Educational Institutes
Order of importance is a hierarchy of commands based on their value – from least important to most important and vice versa. The hierarchy of importance of these commands is not universal. Most of the time, these orders depend on situations, individuals, specific context. Nature of the job, etc. Contrary to this, companies, countries, and other official institutions set a hierarchy of the order of importance that people have to follow. Even in these cases, there are situations where these rules are flexible as per an individual’s situation or experience.
This article prioritizes the order of importance from most important to least important. It is to be noted that the ranking is based on personal experiences and opinions, and does not hold a universal truth to them. Moreover, the hierarchy is divided into different areas of the life of an individual to get a wider perspective.

Order of Importance in a Country
Every country or state – either democratic or despotic – in the world maintains a hierarchy of commands. This hierarchy is important to main the situation or order and piece in a country. Moreover, it is important to maintain law for the proper functioning of the government and citizens. Here is the hierarchy of the order of importance in a country is like.
1. Judiciary
Judiciary is an institute that deals with the settlement of disputes and matters of controversies in a state. it deals with the issues of citizens to the cases of politicians. In many countries, the judiciary is an autonomous institute, which means it is free from any government issues and solely works in line with the constitution. Therefore, it holds extreme value.
Judiciary deals directly with the constitution that is the main source of structure of a state. Also, the constitution remains constant in the state. it may slightly modify under new trends of the international system but does not completely change. This makes the constitution a permanent rule book. Since the judiciary is a regulating authority for the constitution, therefore; it makes it the most important order in the hierarchy for the citizens.
2. Law Enforcement Institutions
Law enforcement institutions like the police, traffic police, anti-narcotics force, and other agencies are responsible for protecting citizens and state property. They must make sure to prevent any harmful activity from happening i.e. violent protests, crimes, unlawful activities, etc. When a crime is reported, these agencies are notified and they have to collect information to find the culprit. Later, the culprits are presented in court. Whether or not the accused is the real culprit is decided by the court based n the evidence provided by these agencies. Indeed these agencies have an important role in maintaining peace in the country but their verdict comes second to the judiciary. Their main job is to assist the judiciary in maintaining law and order situations. Therefore, they come second in the hierarchy.
3. Government
Government is the backbone of any state. Their policies and performance keep a country running. But the governments keep changing after every 5 years. In democratic countries, the governments are decided by direct elections. Moreover, the governments are bound to work according to the constitution. In case of any unlawful activity, the government leaders are arrested and presented in court, which makes their order of importance after judiciary and law enforcement agencies.
4. In Organization
Every organization has a set hierarchy and structure that helps to maintain discipline in the organization. However, every employee has their own order of importance. Let’s discuss the hierarchy.
5. Managing head
The managing head or manager of the team is an expert on the assigned task. They have experience in the field and can guide the employees better when it comes to practical work. Besides, the employee has to report their work progress to their managers, which means that their daily interaction occurs with them. Furthermore, the manager is following the direct orders of the CEO. This makes the order of a manager most important for a regular employee.
6. CEO
There is no denying the importance of a CEO for any company. CEO holds the highest post in an organization’s hierarchy but is placed second in this article. The reason is that CEO does not directly interact with their employee, instead, they communicate through the managers. Moreover, the CEO is in charge of bigger tasks like maintaining the company’s face value, managing its business, forming the company’s policies, etc. They hire experts as managers to lead respective teams. This makes the managers more expert on their teams’ tasks and their order more valued by the employees. However, for managers, their CEO’s order holds the most value.
7. Colleagues
The inclusion of colleagues in the hierarchy is not necessary, as they are equal in the hierarchy. But there are some situations where one needs advice from their colleagues. Employees often take suggestions and help from their colleagues, but, it is just that – advice. One cannot act on the advice if it is opposed by the manager or the CEO. This is why colleagues are placed last in the hierarchy.
In Educational Institutes
Just like organizations, educational institutes have a hierarchy of order of importance for students.
1. HOD
The Head of Departments is equivalent to the manager in an organization. They may not hold the uppermost rank in the hierarchy but they have experience in their respective fields, which makes them competent enough for the post. Besides, the student’s education and career-related activities are approved by the HOD directly. Therefore, HOD’s orders hold the most value for students.
2. Teacher
The importance of a teacher in a student’s life is undeniable. The teacher’s job is to teach students and guide them in their life. However, the teacher is taking direct orders from HOD or institutes administration. Which makes teacher’s order a reflection of the institute’s policy. Moreover, the job of the teacher is to equip students with the skills and help them in the process. Whereas, policies are made on the administration’s orders. This is the reason why the importance of teacher’s orders is second in the hierarchy for students.
3. Institute’s head
An institute head – also known as a rector or director – is equivalent to the CEO of a company. Students do not have regular – or in most cases any – interaction with the rector. All the orders of the rector are delivered through either HOD or the student coordinator. Since there is no interaction or bond with the institute’s head, it leads to having the least importance for students.
4. In Personal Life
Everything that is included in human life is having a personal aspect as well. Similarly, there is an order of importance in an individual’s life. This ranking fully depends upon an individual’s personal preferences, personality, and situations. So, there is no standard hierarchy of ranking.
5. Religion
For individuals who have high regards for whichever religion they follow, religion has the uppermost importance. People spend their lives in the name of their religion. The emotional and spiritual affiliation people have with their religion makes it the topmost order of importance hierarchy.
6. Personal Morals /Principles
Every individual has a set of principles or ethics in life. These rules are dependent on many factors i.e. education, experiences, culture, etc. Religion is the biggest influencing factor here. These rules often change with time. In many situations, people give importance to their principles after their religious teachings.
7. Parents
People have a very close emotional bond with their parents. They love their parents and would do anything for them, including following their orders. However, a human being would make one’s opinions and beliefs instead of following generational philosophy. Consequently, parent’s order comes after the orders of religion and personal ethics or morals.
8. Close Friends
The importance of friends and their opinions in a person’s life is irrefutable. Though people often treat their friends with the least respect but friends have a big influence on their lives. Though the influence is not big enough to make it to the top of the ranking it is still present.
Conclusion
The ranking of the order of importance is subjective based on various factors. There is no right and wrong in the article. It just highlights personal opinions. People in similar situations can have different rankings because of their preferences or need for an hour.
