Importance of Humanity in Different Aspects

We hear or see the word humanity almost daily in our lives. The word is mostly associated with negative connotations these days because of the growing tension and rifts in the world. almost every day we hear or read news regarding an act of human rights violations. Many Non-profit Organizations (NGOs) are talking about the importance of humanity by covering human rights violations across the world. On the contrary, the word “humanity” is supposed to be a positive one.

The phenomenon we are facing daily is the “lack of humanity”, which is causing problems for the whole world. The meaning of humanity is a collection of positive traits that humans should have in them. These traits or qualities include kindness, compassion, honesty, courage, tolerance towards differences, empathy, respect, integrity, thoughtfulness, etc. Not every human needs to have all the qualities and in the same ratio. Everyone has more or less of these qualities that make them a human. These qualities when practiced regularly make a man a human. The lack of these qualities often makes a man evil or inhumane who destroys the world.

Of course, humans cannot be perfect beings. There is no black and white to measure when it comes to humans because a large portion comes under the grey areas. Humans make mistakes and either learn from them or continue making those mistakes without realization. This is why the importance of humanity is necessary for discussion to constantly reinforce everyone to practice their humane side.

Importance of Humanity

The world we know today has many troubles and issues of economic, political, and social nature. However, the root cause of all these issues seems to be a lack of humanity. People are exploiting, killing, bullying, each other, and whatnot. These issues can be resolved once people realize the benefits and importance of humanity.

1. Unites Humans

Humans from different parts of the world follow different religions and cultures. It means they follow different rituals, have different religious and cultural values. These differences can create a gap among humans in different parts of the world. However, the language of humanity is one force that can unite humans despite their differences. One such example is of different NGOs that work in different parts of the world without ethnic, religious, cultural, social, and political biases.

2. Ensures Peace

One of the factors of humanity is to be tolerant towards those who share different opinions and backgrounds. When we tolerate the differences, there is less chaos in the world, and less chaos means the lack of destruction and establishment of peace. If all humans and governments of every state use the weapon of humanity, there will be peace and happiness in the world

3. Humanity is the Ethic

It is a fact that humanity also means moral values of ethical behavior. We call humane behavior as ethical behavior many times. Many institutes and organizations develop an ethical code of conduct for their employees. Many of the claws are based on the basic traits of humanity. If every human works on developing and polishing one’s human traits then there won’t be a need to forcefully ensure ethical behavior from everyone. Better humanity can eliminate the issues of moral values and ethics from society.

4. Reduced Crime Rate

The increase in the number of crimes in today’s world is mainly because of humanity. Yes, there are some times when the criminal is forced to commit a crime because of whatever conditions life has put. But, the root cause remains the lack of humanity from people in power who are busy with corruption and ignore the needs of the poor segment of the society. If there is humanity, there will be a reduced crime rate in the world. Similarly, humanity can prevent a criminal from committing a crime whether out of need or out of fun.

5. No Wars

If we look at history, even just a couple of decades back, we shall notice numerous wars in different parts of the world. Syria, Afghanistan, Lebonan, and many other countries have been facing worse situations because of proxy wars between some countries. Moreover, there countries like India and Pakistan, which are in a war or war-like situation and have tensions of military nature between them. These wars are a result of poor judgment from the governments and authorities from both countries and a lack of humanity. Countries need to realize the importance of humanity and stop wars. Instead, focus on the real development of people of their countries.

Humanity and Coronavirus

In the year 2020 and now in 2021, the world is facing worse situations due to the pandemic. The sudden hit of the pandemic has shaken the world and the system. A large number of casualties are seen. The health care system from almost all of the countries collapsed during the pandemic. There are several reasons why these situations can be linked to humanity. One of the major reasons is that countries spend more on military and weapons than the health and education sector. Due to this, the healthy sector collapsed, globally, under the emergency of coronavirus. Moreover, many people refused to believe in the legitimacy of the coronavirus and continued breaking the SOPs. Anti-Asian violence can also be seen at a high. This is another action to reflect the lack of humanity around the world. Many things can be done – on a collective and individual level – to spread the importance of humanity among people that can solve these issues.

  • Urge the governments to spend more on the health and education sector instead of weaponizing the military.
  • The more GDP spent on education, the more researches will be made to tackles pandemics and other emergencies without wasting time.
  • Awareness among people should be made for an easier understanding of science.
  • Discourage violence in any situation and promote the positivity of humanity and tolerance among people.
  • Citizens stand against violence, wars, and destruction and urge their governments to make peace.

Humanity and Religion

There is a deep relationship between religions and humanity. No matter that religion you follow, it preaches us the importance of humanity and urges us to follow the path of humanity. Therefore, many people call humanity the biggest religion. There may be differences in different religions but the lesson of humanity remains the same. Without humanity religions become rituals. The service of humanity is considered a religious ritual in religions. The importance of humanity is not tied to worldly matters but it is taught to us through our religion(s).

Humanity to Everyone

Humanity does not mean only serving other humans. It has many forms.

  • It includes being kind to animals and take care of them.
  • It means to care for every living being i.e. trees, plants, animals, etc.
  • It also includes taking care of the environment and save the planet from climate change and other damages.
  • Serving humanity including elders, children, poor, weak, and anyone that needs help.
  • It means to help people assessing to education and necessities of life like food and health.
  • Humanity includes big to small gestures that we can do for someone like helping the unemployed find a source of occupation.
  • It also means to be empathetic towards others and listen to their problems without judgment.

Conclusion

The importance of humanity is a serious matter. The topic is much needed in the world more than ever. No one can deny the impact of humanity in the world. By practicing humanity, the world can become a better place for everyone. However, it requires our efforts to practice humanity, as it may not always seem the essay choice but it is the only right choice that humans can make. The world would have been a nice place to live if there is humanity among us and if humanity is encouraged by others.
